Updates are updates that Jagex have made to Old School RuneScape. Updates are made every week on Wednesdays at around 11:30am BST. If a major update is released, a yellow message appears above the chat window, alerting players that there is an allotted time period, typically 30 minutes, before all players are removed from the game as the system upgrade. Hotfixes are modifications that can be implemented to the client without having to reload it. There is no update timer. Safebin These are typically bug fixes and adjustments to balance new content that has been released.
